How long is a 10K?
10 kilometres, or 6.21 miles. Here's what that means in laps, steps and minutes.
How long does a 10K take?
Walking takes about 1 h 40 min to 2 hours; jogging about 60–80 minutes; a strong club runner about 38–45 minutes. Most first-time 10K runners finish between about 60 and 80 minutes. Breaking one hour is a popular milestone that many runners reach in their first year or two.
At 10 kilometres, the 10K is long enough to feel like an achievement and short enough to train for in two months once you can run a 5K.
